Depending on the attendance, we may split into groups, including: a beginner's group who immerse themselves in a fundamentals class, an intermediate group who enjoy a class demonstrating and learning more advanced ties, and a practise group commonly referred to as the Chaos group. Like the "organization" of the Portland Rope Arts Group itself, the Chaos group is fluid and proudly comprises unplanned mayhem. The meetings are not play parties; we encourage attendees to interrupt and ask questions if they see something they'd like to know more about.
The experience level of those who attend meetings ranges from expert to "I've never tied a knot (or been tied up) in my life." There are many good teachers you can feel free to walk up to and ask a question of. Most important, there's support, information, and advice for those of us who love rope bondage or are just curious about it. The Portland Rope Arts Group also sponsors occasional rope bondage workshops. The most accurate and timely information can be found on our email list; to be put on the mailing list, please send a message (see Contacts).
Thank you to Lee Harrington for being an inspiration for us.
